Finbar never disaapoints! Great food and great staff! It was very busy yet our server was attentive and didn't miss an opportunity to refill our water or check in with us! We ordered one of the specials, Macadamia Nut Encrusted Sea Bass, Penne alla Vodka, BBQ Chicken Pizza (we love leftover pizza), and Spumoni Gelato Cake for dessert. Everything was great. The Sea Bass was prepared just right! It came with Asparagus (al dente!) And rice. That Wild Sicilian Rice was so good! It was the first time we had it!! My husband and I shared all the dishes for more tastes! We come here at least once a month. Their Happy Hour is the best around! Great deals on food and drinks. This place is such a gem, but far from hidden. Busy for lunch, Happy Hour, and dinner! Great to see such a wonderful business well patronized!

Food here is always good. Dine in tonight. Shout out to Randy our waiter Macadamia crusted sea bass with mango relish (could use a bit more herbs/flavor) but still cooked to perfection, with side of mashed potatoes (also lacking flavor) and asparagus. Overall it was still a great meal. Raspberry Lemon Drop was delicious. Will definitely be back!

Excellent food and service! The ricotta ravioli with marinara sauce was delicious, and the spaghetti with meatballs was also great. It's in a strip mall, easy to miss, but very nice inside. Real napkins and tablecloths, warm bread served before you even order. My only small quibble is the balsamic vinegar is not terrific. A very cheerful atmosphere, reasonably priced, extensive menu. They seem to have New York style pizza, will have to try it out next time.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here. It's always a hit and I love to try different items each time we come. My favorites are the gnocchi Monterey, tomato pasta soup, clams, mussels, and the bread! The service is always on point and they make you feel right at home. The vibe is very homey and I have never had anything bad here!

Great meal tonight- again. I had the Monterey chicken specialty that was excellent. My wife had a pasta dish with veges, chicken that was very good. Service was superb. A highlight was the special Brussels sprouts appetizer. It was fantastic.

My wife found the new Italian restaurant in Seal Beach. She wanted to test the quality and service before her B day. We got there before 3 and I asked the server if we can get in for Happy Hour starting at 3. We waited about 9 minutes and finally ordered the foods. Starting w red wine, Merlot $7. The wine was so good. Really merrow, rich, and deep flavor! My wife chose fried calamari, I got mussels w marinara sauce, and 2 pizzas, BBQ chicken and Margherita pizza. First, we were so hungry and digged in the first plate, calamari. Super crunchy, I loved loved tails and body calamari. We give it 5 stars. My mussels $10 are sooooo tiny, like a baby shell, just OK. Not much flavors. We really liked BBQ chicken pizza. Lots of chicken, BBQ sauce w shallots. I give 4 stars. But Margherita pizza was basic taste. Was not really authentic Italian pizza. Finally we chose one more pasta. Penne w marinara, shrimps. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The sauce was basic and they gave us only 5 shrimps. Only 5 medium sized shrimps.... Well, we were so full. 2 Appetizers, 2 pizzas, and entrée, penne w shrimps. We took lots of leftovers home. Another day w Italian foods. Haha... My wife likes more upscale restaurant, cozy, fancy, real high quality of ingredients. They got award of Excellence in 2020. I am not sure my wife can come again for her b day. We really enjoyed the happy hour from 3 to 4. They have great options on the happy hour menu including drinks like beer for $4, wine 7, cocktails $8. Ambiance: casual, sports bar vibe Service: not bad Price: $$ Quality: 3.5 stars Parking: plenty of parking

I found Finbars from Yelp 2 days ago and decided to try Happy Hour menu $8 today before my b day lunch. My husband and I got there around 3. I said we want happy hour menu then we sat at the small table covered Red table cloth for two. Their happy hour is 3 to 6 Mon to Fri. The location is in the middle of big strip mall. Easy to find the restaurant. I chose fried calamari, mussels w marinara sauce, one chicken bbq pizza. And another margherita pizza w Merlot by glass. The price is $7 during happy hour. The service is a little slow, served Italian baguette w butter. We got calamari first. Yum...perfect crunchy w marinara sauce, some honey garlic alioli sauce. Both sauces are so good. We give 5 stars. For mussels, it was sooooo tiny, I only see marinara sauce and garlic. Dissappinted!! Only 3 stars. Chicken bbq pizza was good, enough chickens, shallots, sweet bbq sauce. I give 4 stars. Margherita pizza was just ok. Not much flavorful, very basic w tomato slices. Just 2 stars!!! Our merlot wine was so good. Real merrow, rich, and deep w fruit taste. 5 stars!!! We ordered penne w marinara, shrimps to test their pasta. The penne was cooked perfect. The sauce was basic and found 5 or 6 shrimps....so basic. I regretted to order as a regular menu. Overall, the service was good, friendly, the happy hour deal was good even the drinks. I have to think about my b day lunch to come again or not. We tasted the two pizzas and didn't find the better taste compared to the other Italian restaurants. Ambiance: casual, sports bar vibe. Price: most of cuisines $20 - $25 Happy Hour: $8, 3 to 6 Mon to Fri Parking: spacious Quality: 3.5 stars

What made this dinner such a great experience was our server, Lisa. She made us feel so welcome (it was our first visit). They don't take reservations so we'd had a 15 minute wait and reviewed the menu. We knew exactly what we wanted. Garlic bread ($5), side Caesar's ($6), for me the Penne Ala Vodka w/shrimp ($19.75+$6), for my husband the Spaghetti w/meatballs ($19.95). Free bread and butter to start, and we asked for balsamic vinegar since we saw olive oil on the table. The bread was fresh and toasted well. The garlic bread with marinara for dipping was delicious - not too garlicky. My husband's dish came with two giant meatballs that were tender and flavorful. My penne was great and I liked that they took the tails off the shrimp for you. Because I'm lazy and like to get right to the eating. We quickly filled up and had to take half home. But couldn't resist getting the homemade cheesecake and tiramisu ($9.50) to go. Lisa gave us the cheesecake free as a New Guest welcome. Throughout the meal Lisa checked in frequently, food came out quickly, kept me well supplied with water, empty dishes whisked away. She has a really warm and caring demeanor and really made our meal special.

Finbars Italian Kitchen is a cute mom-and-pop type restaurant in Seal Beach. The place was absolutely packed when we got there for happy hour, but thankfully we were seated immediately! Their happy hour pricing is insane; $8 for everything on the happy hour menu, including drinks. The staff are also so attentive and kind. I got the Walk on the Pier martini which was really light and well made (you do need to order a drink in order to get the food for happy hour pricing). For appetizers, we got the clams castellammare which were baby clams in a wine, garlic, and shallot broth. The broth is incredible; I could have just eaten bread dipped in that broth as my whole meal. The baked stuff mushrooms were filled with bacon, spinach, onion, ricotta and mozzarella. Pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. I did really enjoy both the Neapolitan pizza and the pizza of the day. The dough was awesome and I personally love potato on my pizza, so the pizza of the day was perfect for me. Their cheesecake was also so good; highly recommend! Overall, this place is a must for happy hour. I'd be interested to try some of their other dishes!
